Academic Programs

We offer a diverse array of programs that cater to the interests and career aspirations of our students:

Master of Science in Climate Smart Agriculture : This program of study opens new doors for students to utilize their acquired resources plus the right techniques to cater for the difficulties that come with climate change in agriculture. It is like getting a ticket to the world of sustainable farming processes, smart ways to overcome climate conditions, and using the available technology for better productivity that does not harm the environment. The graduates will be there to play the role of the leaders in research organizations, public sector, and international agencies that are committed to sustainable agriculture and environmentally stronger communities.
Duration: Two (2) Academic Years
Master of Science in Applied Agronomy and Technologies :The MSc in Applied Agronomy and Technologies is all about generating better crop production systems through the use of up-to-date agronomic principles and new agricultural technologies. It is the type of program that consists of theory, fieldwork, and research at the same time thus allowing students to create solutions that not only uplift the yield but also maintain soil health and preserve the earth’s resources. These students will be going professionals and researchers who like to boast of their knowledge in agronomy, precision agriculture, and technological innovations in agriculture.
Duration: Two (2) Academic Years
Bachelor of Science in Agriculture :The Bachelor of Science in Agriculture forms the basis of agricultural sciences, providing the simultaneous operating in the classroom and the field in crop and livestock production, soil science, and agricultural economics. Students acquire the skills and the know-how needed to run farms, carry out agricultural research, and help in feeding and developing the countryside. The program turns out graduates who are ready for careers that are various in terms of agribusiness, agricultural extension, research, and environment management.
Duration: Four (4) Academic Years

The department has programmes designed to enhance and promote research and innovations in the areas of Food science by inculcating food science knowledge and principles to candidates from diverse backgrounds.

Kenya is an agriculturally rich country and many people are either actively involved in food production or processing, whether or not they have prior knowledge and qualifications in agro-business management. This is evidenced by the increasing rates of growth of food industries. Food science graduate-level programmes give potential students the required exposure and learning details in food science and technology gives a detailed academic orientation to graduate students aspiring to join Agro. Business management practice or research and make our economy robust in line with vision 2030.
